Minion Crochet Hat Pattern

9mm hook

fits 6-10 year old

Chain 4

Join with a slip stitch for form a circle

Chain 2 and make 9 double crochets in the circle, place a stitch marker and move it up with each row.

Make 2 double crochet in the chain space and in every stitch around for 22 stitches in that row

in the next row make one double crochet  in the first stitch and then 2 double crochet in the 2nd stitch and repeat that pattern around for 33 stitches

the next row is one double crochet, one double crochet, 2 double crochet, and repeat that pattern around for 43 stitches

the next 7 rows are just one double crochet in each stitch around (all of this is with yellow)

next you will make 2 rows of black, all double crochet like the previous 7 rows

next will be five more rows of the yellow like the last 9 rows and that hat part is done! You slip knot the yarn and secure it. weave in the tail

Now you need to make the eye, one or two. If you are making two use a smaller hook

With black
Chain 4, slip stitch join to form a circle
make 7 double crochets in the circle
slip stitch into the first double crochet and cut and secure

with brown
make 2 double crochets in each stitch around for 16 stitches

with white
one double crochet in the first stitch, two double crochet in the second stitch, repeat around for 24? (I lost count)

with gray or silver I did one double crochet in each stitch around. Leave a long tail on this one.

Sew in all loose yarn except for gray, use that long tail to sew the eye on to the hat.

cut 8 piece of black yarn 6 inches or longer (you can always cut it) slip knot it on to the top if the hat for the hair and trip it to the length you want it.

I am not one for following patterns I just make them as I go so I hope that this makes sense to you!!
